ORCA/C
At the height of the popularity of Apple's Apple IIGS computer, I formed and lead a team that created ORCA/C, an ANSI C conforming compiler. I supervised team members who worked on testing and support tools while I wrote the compiler itself and the runtime libraries. This compiler soon became the standard for C programming on the Apple IIGS. It won an editor's choice award from Nibble magazine and took virtually the entire C compiler market from a compiler supported by Apple Computer. A member of the ANSI standards committee even used ORCA/C to vet C programs to insure they followed the ANSI standard, because ORCA/C followed the standard so closely.
I also ported ORCA/C to the Macintosh as a cross compiler for a Nintendo game company.
