Representative Recent Accomplishments:

MediaBlender

Designed and implemented a large multimedia authoring tool that presents cutting-edge capabilities in a format so simple grade school children can use it. Developed in Java, this application works in a variety of environments, including Windows, Macintosh, and even directly over the Internet in a browser. Explore it at the Tech4Learning web site.

HyperStudio

Working with a team of programmers scattered across the country, developed and documented the Logo scripting language used in the most popular multimedia authoring tool in education today. Written in C, this interpreted language and support environment runs on both Windows and the Macintosh. Try it at the HyperStudio web site.

AVERT

Brought on as a consultant to create a Java GUI for this terrorist threat assessment package developed by ARES for DTRA, I eventually assisted with much of the central simulation code. The varied tasks included a 3D display of site maps, simulation of intruder and guard motion, and implementing combat models.

Fuzzy Compiler

Designed and implemented a custom natural language compiler used as a front end to drive an advanced fuzzy logic agent based modeling package that runs on the web. Written in Java, this package has been used by business, the CIA and the Marines for everything from modeling small unit tactics to kangaroo ecology.
